DASCO appointed to develop Beecroft Road site at Epping

Indicative concept image, subject to approvals and change

Landcom and Sydney Metro have today announced the appointment of DASCO to develop 242-244 Beecroft Road, Epping as part of the Sydney Metro Northwest Places program.

The appointment of DASCO follows a sales process which saw the transaction completed in three months.

The site has an approved concept State Significant Development Application which supports a maximum residential gross floor area of 37,700m² and could provide up to 432 dwellings, including a range of studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments, over 12 storeys.

Landcom Project Director Adam Turnbull said the Beecroft Road site will provide a new mixed-use development, just minutes from train and metro services at Epping Station and Epping town centre.

“The future development will create a connected, thriving, and liveable community with access to local retail and commercial space,” Mr Turnbull said.

“The previously approved concept proposal allows for new homes and non-residential uses which may include office, retail, cafe or medical spaces.

“From 2024, new residents of the development will benefit from improved metro services, with travel times from Epping to Martin Place Station of around 26 minutes.

“The efficient tender process included a four-week response period and structured evaluation process to assess responses from interested developers and we are pleased with the outcome.”

DASCO said they were excited to be part of the project.

“Our vision is to create and deliver high-quality projects with integrated community living in well located suburbs,” DASCO Directors, Daniel and Salim Nicolas, said.

“The mixed-use development presents an opportunity to offer retail, housing diversity including affordable housing, a transit-oriented design with excellent walkability to surrounding facilities and activation of public transport use.

“We were particularly drawn to the positioning of the site, which will allow people to live in walking distance to the metro line and in close proximity to several major business centres – Macquarie Park, Chatswood, Parramatta, Norwest and the Sydney CBD.”

DASCO will prepare the detailed State Significant Development Application to seek approval for construction.

The approval also includes a minimum provision of 5 per cent of residential floor space for Affordable Housing. The housing will be managed by a registered Community Housing Provider and will be targeted towards key workers.

Landcom and Sydney Metro will continue to work with industry to develop the remaining 65 hectares of land across the Sydney Metro Northwest Places program, which is expected to deliver around 10,000 new homes in the coming years.
